Privacy policy

Short version: Migla stores the character you make and your progress in the game, and almost nothing else. We never ask for your real name or your email. There are no ads, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing is ever sold or shared. You can have your character deleted whenever you like.

Who we are

Migla is an alpha game made by a very small independent team in Latvia (the “we” on this page), so EU law — including the GDPR — applies to everything below. For anything privacy‑related, write to hello@migla.gg.

What we store, and why

We do not collect your email, phone number, location, or contacts. There is no account form, no marketing list, and no payment anything — the game is free.

The lawful basis for all of the above is simply running the game you asked to play (GDPR “legitimate interest” / performance of the service), and your choice for the optional recovery phrase.

What lives in your browser

The game keeps one token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in to your character between visits. It’s strictly necessary — it is the sign‑in — and it identifies your character, not you. A few preferences (volume, settings, your mute list) are also stored locally and never leave your device. There are no tracking cookies and no third‑party scripts, on this site or in the game.

What we do NOT do

How long we keep things

Your character and progress stay as long as the alpha world does — though this is a game in development, and worlds can get wiped as part of building it. The chat log overwrites itself continuously; server logs rotate away on their own. When something is no longer needed, it’s gone.

Deleting your data

Email hello@migla.gg with your character’s name and we’ll remove the character and its progress promptly — no forms, no hoops. You can also ask what we hold about your character (we’ll send it; it’s small) or ask us to correct it. If you believe we’ve mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in Latvia, the Data State Inspectorate.

Children

Migla has open chat between players, so it isn’t directed at young children. We never ask for real names or emails, so we hold nothing that identifies a child — but parents and guardians: one email and a character is gone, no questions.

Changes

If this policy changes we’ll update the date at the top. Since we collect so little, changes should be rare and small.
